Is this class free?
Yes. Rooted in Motherhood is a free weekly virtual education and support class for expecting and postpartum mothers.
Is this therapy?
No. This class is educational and supportive, but it is not therapy, a therapy group, or a replacement for individual therapy, medical care, or emergency support.
Do I have to attend every week?
No. This is a drop-in series, so you can attend the weeks that work for you. Each week covers a different topic.
Will I have to share personal information?
No. Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to listen, learn, and participate at your own comfort level.
Who leads the class?
The class is led by a therapist from Generational Wellness who provides education, guides discussion, and shares helpful resources.
What topics are covered?
Topics include pregnancy preparation, postpartum recovery, perinatal mental health, infant sleep, bonding, anxiety, mom guilt, relationships, boundaries, identity changes, and knowing when additional support may be needed.
How long is each class?
Each class is approximately 60 minutes.
Where is the class held?
The class is held virtually. After registering, you will receive the online meeting link by email.
Can I join if I am pregnant or already postpartum?
Yes. Expecting mothers and postpartum mothers are both welcome.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes. Since the class is virtual, babies are welcome. It is okay if you need to feed, soothe, or step away during class.
What if I am in crisis or feel unsafe?
This class is not emergency care. If you are in immediate danger or feel like you may harm yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 for immediate crisis support.
Do I need to be a Generational Wellness client?
No. You do not need to be a current client to attend.
Will the class be recorded?
No. To protect participant privacy, the live class is not recorded.
