Blake McCarthy, MFT-I
Marriage and Family Therapist - Intern
Supervised by Brandi Kulikov-Ramirez LMFT 134149
Therapist for Children, Teens, Couples and Families
At the heart of Blake McCarthy’s philosophy is the belief that every individual carries unique strengths and untapped resilience, and therapy provides a safe space to uncover and build upon those qualities.
Blake’s journey into the field of counseling began with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in child and adolescent development. During his undergraduate studies at Cal State San Marcos, he performed neuropsychological, cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional assessments, deepening his understanding of the complexities of human development.
His clinical approach is both client-centered and goal-driven, grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Bowenian Family Systems Theory. Blake is especially passionate about exploring underlying issues with clients, tailoring treatment goals to their unique needs, and helping them strengthen relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and cultivate hope.
TRAINING & EDUCATION
Blake earned his Bachelor of Arts in Child & Adolescent Development from California State University San Marcos and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University.
He is a board-registered neuropsychological testing techniian and specializes in behavioral analysis, assessments, and observations.

VISION FOR CLIENTS
Blake’s vision is to help clients feel understood, empowered, and supported as they work toward healing and growth. He strives to create a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals and families can process struggles, heal from past wounds, and move toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Blake speaks English and conversational Spanish, which allows him to connect with a broader range of clients and communities. He hopes his clients leave therapy not only with tools to navigate challenges but also with renewed resilience and confidence in their ability to build stronger, more connected lives.
